Greenwich Village
The West Village is also called Greenwich Village, and is famous for innumerable residents and events, including the annual Halloween parade that is an outlandish display of debauchery. The Village runs from the Hudson River to Broadway where it meets the East Village; on the south end it begins at Houston where Soho ends; and on the north end it leaves off at 14th Street where Chelsea begins. In between you will find meandering streets that seem to follow no rhyme or reason and are filled with delightful shops and delicacies. You will also find New York University and the New School.
