Originally named Leo Astor and Leo Lenox for the patrons of the New York Public Library, these lions were renamed by Mayor LaGuardia in 1930 for the virtues New Yorkers would need to survive the depression. There is nothing depressing about this noble pair.

This temporary installation of Anish Kapoor's Sky Mirror, a Public Art Fund Project in Rockefeller Center, was wonderful. This one's gone, but be sure and catch the others when they are available. Don't miss the Calders in City Hall Park or the Roxy Paine in Madison Square Park.
