A 30-acre park on Manhattan's West Side between 110th and 123rd Streets, the park was constructed over 24 years, from 1871 to 1895, by a board that continually fired and rehired Vaux and Olmstead. This is not a safe place for roaming at night. One might enjoy the park during daylight hours, thanks to the growing community around Barnard and Columbia Colleges.
